Blessings At Thanksgiving

Today, I am joining a group of table stylists for a Thanksgiving Blog Hop. This group of stylists always amaze me with innovative ideas for table styling. The links to each blogger's table can be found at the end of this post. A special thank you to Rita @ Panoply for coordinating this hop in the midst of packing and moving. We appreciate you, Rita.

Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away. I hope my tablescape will give you an idea or two for your Thanksgiving table.
We will be going to my daughter's home for Thanksgiving. However, they will be here this weekend and I am hoping the flowers will still be nice.

Fresh bittersweet is very hard to come by here. So finding this faux bittersweet that looks very real made my day a few years back.

Candlelight creates atmosphere. The soft glow is calming and cozy. Your guests instantly feel special.
A pair of brass candelabra on each side of the flower arrangement provides light and adds ambiance and symmetry.

The centerpiece container is a soup tureen from a set of Eschenbach Bavarian china sitting on the platter from the game bird set. I used Costco roses in reds, corals, and yellows along with Sasanqua greenery cut from my garden.

Arteitalica flutes were a special splurge for our 50th wedding anniversary this August!

These game plates found at Brimfield antique show years ago are used every Thanksgiving at our house. This is the first Thanksgiving to add the round velvet placemats. The gold chargers and gold flatware pick up the gold in the border of the antique game plates.

I am enjoying the gold budding leaf napkin rings my son's family gave me for my birthday. For different look using them, you can view here.

The roses are continuing to open. I have added flower food several times and sprayed them with Crowning Glory to help the flowers last longer.

I consider it a blessing to have been a part of this tablescaping group since 2016! I have learned so much from all of you. Thank you Chloe, for inviting me to participate in this blog hop.

I also count this cabinet as one of my blessings this Thanksgiving. It was made by my husband's great grandfather. It holds many dishes and linens I use for tablescaping.
Also, in this room is a painting by his great grandmother.

The Chinese lady in the background was painted by my husband's great-grandmother. I feel very blessed to have these two family pieces.

I moved the flower arrangement after I photographed my table to our family room where I would see it more often.

It would be very easy to get used to fresh flowers in your home all the time! They add so much!
We are so blessed! Thank you, my readers, for your kind comments and friendships. Thank you tablescaping buddies for your inspiration and friendship. I look forward to reading and viewing all your tablescapes. .🦃🍁🦃

  1. That's FAUX bittersweet??!?!??! I can see why it made your day! It looks 100% real!!! Good find! Your flutes are absolutely GORGEOUS! Happy belated anniversary! What a wonderful way to commemorate it! It's wonderful that you have so many treasures from you and your husband's families to surround you in the dining room. Those are the things that truly make a house a home. You are blessed to have them, and I know you know that by the way you so lovingly speak of them. You did an amazing job with the floral arrangement, and I hope it holds up nicely for when your family visits. Beautiful flowers are always a fabulous beacon to come in and make yourself at home.

Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with your family!

  2. Good Morning Bonnie! I love your beautiful roses in your soup tureen as a centerpiece for your table. Isn’t Crowning Glory amazing? I think it’s a miracle product. I’ve long admired your game plates and they’re set off beautifully with the gold of your chargers and soft velvet placemats. Your Arte Italica flutes are gorgeous too, Happy Anniversary! Your home is beautiful and I love your animal print accents on your pillows, mini pumpkin and your sweater. :) As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. You were missed at the fall hop. Happy November. ♥

    1. Mary, Thanks for your visit and kind comments. I may have gone overboard lately with the animal prints but I like them. I'm glad you like my game set. At the time I bought the game set I was part of an antique business. a the price was a little high for our area and it did not sell. I have been very glad it did not sell for many years because I have used it so much! LOL!

    1. Emily, We like the same things, like traditional southern style. I was very happy to be given the family cabinet because I needed the storage but I am very sentimental as well.

  6. Good morning, Bonnie, the roses are gorgeous in the soup tureen. You have taken all the necessary steps for their longevity. Your table is so elegant with the gold accents of chargers, candlelabra, flatware, budding napkin rings, and the stunning Arte Italica flutes. The CL velvet placemats are perfect for your lovely table. I agree with Emily that your table is classic, Southern, and traditional. You are the perfect Southern hostess as you light the candles. The pieces handed down from Mike’s family are treasures to enjoy.

It is always a treat to join you at one of your lovely tables. Enjoy your family this weekend!

  7. Thank you for your lovely comments. The roses have lasted almost two weeks! I did put them in the refrigerator a few times that helped. My daughter did get to see them before they started waning. I wrote the dialogue last week so the weekend timing is off.
I realize the big centerpiece would not work for a real meal but it looks good in the room!! LOL!
Yes, these hops are fun. My problem is I want to write all the comments in a sitting and life does not allow that. I'm off to a meeting and a luncheon this morning.

  8. We really have to figure out what to do on Thanksgiving sometime soon. I know one thing -- my table (if I have one) will not be as elegant or beautiful as yours. What a treat to see your beautiful china and the roses are wonderful. I still can't wrap my head around the fact that you are old enough to be married 50 years! I love the flutes -- they are exquisite.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your daughter's family~

  16. Bonnie I love your table especially Your Arte Italica flutes! They make me think of your trip to Tuscany.... and all the lovely pictures you provided from Italy. I went a long time ago, but after seeing your pics, I now want to go back. But if one can't go back right away, one can sit at your table and enjoy all your beautiful pieces and flowers. I love fresh flowers and I try to keep them as long as I can and when they start to fade, I feel like I am losing a friend. I know, a bit silly of me. Happy Thanksgiving my friend

  19. Bonnie, what an elegant, classic Thanksgiving table! Your wedding anniversary flutes (congratulations on your 50th!) pair perfectly with the divine vintage plates. And fresh roses — stunning! We are also traveling to one of our children’s for the holiday. Isn’t it lovely to sometimes host the feast, but other years to be the guest? Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful.

  20. Bonnie your table is elegant and inviting. Something that is not always to accomplish. I love your Bavarian china. I have six salad plates that belonged to my mom. Each features a different bird. They add something to a Thanksgiving table as do yours.

Wishing you a lovely Thanksgiving with your family and safe travels.

There's something about lingering at a pretty candlelit table that is a winning recipe for a relaxing evening. Also, where have I been to not know velvet placemats were a thing. They add texture and a luxe feeling. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the time with your family.
