My theme for this tablescape was From the Sea. The tablecloth has a sea motif with sea horses and coral designs. The napkin rings are shells and the dish under the centerpiece is a fish. It was exciting to fill three buckets of hydrangeas that inspired the tablescape above. After several years of just a few blooms, it was encouraging to have enough flowers to arrange.
My gardenias did well this year also. I rooted this bush and three others about the same size. They have grown so fast!
Since I had blooms in my garden I had to play with a tablescape and vignettes using my blooms and milk glass pieces. Don't you love this tablecloth? My friend, Rita, from Panoply, gifted this cloth to me and the milk glass cake plate when she downsized and purged her collections a few years ago.
This was a sunset through the trees in my neighbor's yard. It was especially striking and I enjoyed taking pictures.I just returned from a great week with family at St George Island in Florida. The sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights were incredible. I hope to share some of those shots in another post. Have a great week and stay safe. All of those suffering from COVID are in my prayers. So many are sick and I know many of them in our town. Our county has a very high infection rate. My prayers are also with the medical personnel caring for so many sick people.

I hope all that took you away from us has been well resolved and in a good way and that you and your family are safe. I understand about the Covid. Our numbers are rising rapidly here. Please stay well and safe.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you did exactly what you needed to do, no apologies necessary! Beautiful sea motif with your hydrangeas. If I do say so myself, that tablecloth and those arrangements with various garden flowers and your milk glass is stunning! Very happy for you to relax and enjoy St. George Island. We drove through that location after we visited my daughter and sil when she was in grad school at FSU. I liked the remoteness of it.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am so glad your hydrangeas gave you blooms to enjoy and style for tables. I love your “from the sea” set in your lovely garden. The cloth from Rita is one of my faves. Having a vacation with family is always fun, and I will be looking forward to your sunrises, sunsets, and starry nights post. Wishing you a beautiful day and so happy you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am so sorry you have not been well but thankful to know you are better. Your hydrangeas are just amazing. I love your seaside table and your vignette using those items gifted from Rita. My hydrangeas have not bloomed this year. We had two cold spells in early Spring. My limelight is doing fine. Thank you for the beautiful post this morning.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I missed you and thought you were traveling. I'm sorry you've had any problem and I hope all is well now. You are sharing two of my favorite plants, hydrangeas and gardenia. Yours are beautiful this year. I have only a few hydrangea blooms and the gardenia blooms are falling off. Rita was so generous when she shared her beautiful inventory, your cloth is lovely. I share your thoughts for Covid with numbers rising here as well. Take care my friend.........
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, you were missed and I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, so glad you're back! Your hydrangeas are beautiful, love the blue and they look so pretty with your sea themed tablescape. The covid numbers are scary, the hospitals near Orange Beach were full of out of state infected people...I pray we don't have to lock down again, and hate that my grands are going back to school with masks...

Bonnie, your table is lovely and the hydrangeas are gorgeous. Do you fertilize your hydrangeas? If not, you may want to give them a little manure in late February or early March. It really does help.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you took a break, I did as well. Something we all need to do from time to time. I am afraid we are not finished with Covid - it is on the rise everywhere. Stay well.
Bonnie, it's so nice to hear from you! We all need breaks from time to time, and I'm a big believer in blogging without guilt, LOL! I think hydrangeas are perfect for a table with a sea theme. Your tablescape and hydrangeas are lovely!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hydrangeas. So glad you got to get away. Sometimes we all need breaks. I hope everything worked out. The sea motif is gorgeous. Always a pleasure to see your gardens and pretty tables.
ReplyDeleteI have missed you Bonnie and I do hope that you and your family are well. Love those beautiful hydrangeas. You always do such a beautiful table. Happy Wednesday girl. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you...your hydrangeas are gorgeous and love what the beautiful Rita sent to you!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great trip to Florida...
