Easter Joy

The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Ah...spring is so beautiful!  What a delightful day to set a table in my garden. I know many of you are still in winter but spring is coming.
Welcome to an Easter blog hop sponsored by Chloe Crabtree of Celebrate and Decorate. Chloe has been our leader for four years. Thank you Chloe for making these hops possible. I was so excited when Chloe asked me to join but at the same time, I was nervous. I am glad I joined and it has been rewarding to meet other bloggers and table stylists. You can find the other stylist's tables at the end of this post and can view them by clicking on the links.

Hobby Lobby had the cutest bunny plates. I bought four and went back for more weeks ago, and they were all gone. I really needed them because my Texas grands surprised me with a visit this week. I checked another nearby town, and they were sold out too.
I loved all the colors on the plate, and this little girl bunny had a pretty flower crown.

It was fun to have so many colors and textures to work with starting with a woven placemat, Bordello Pinheiro cabbage chargers, pink transferware plates in four patterns and three different bunny patterns in salad plates.

After the plate stack was decided on, I remembered a king-size sheet from my mother-in-law's beach house from the '70s to use for a tablecloth. I was so pleased it worked, and the floral napkins that I had even had tulips on them. The wooden green beaded napkin rings made me happy too.  I'm always looking for napkin rings but these are an area I could improve on. I am so sorry Pier I and World Markets closed in our area.

A white wicker basket holds pink and white hydrangeas, pink tulips, and daisies. It just looked like Easter to me.
All this week, with the lovely spring weather, I have been thinking about the Monet quote, " I must have flowers always and always." Claude Monet.
The pink vintage-inspired embossed glassware by Pioneer woman has such a lovely shape with
the fluted foot.

The rabbit salt and pepper shakers I have had since my kids were little. I was so glad to have my grandchildren from Texas and north Alabama visit. I loved having children here to use my Easter things, and the kids enjoyed them.

Bunnies, eggs, and spring flowers are fun, and we all have fond memories from past Easter seasons, but Easter is really about the celebration of the resurrection of our Savior, who gave himself as a sacrifice for our sins. This old hymn says what I feel in my heart.

  1. Just beautiful Bonnie! I love your plate stack with the bunny plates, pink transferware and cabbage leaf chargers! How smart to use a sheet as a tablecloth! I adore your sweet bunnies. I’ve noticed that Hobby Lobby really sells out quickly, if you see it one week, it’s gone next. Your blooming Easter basket is beautiful with your hydrangeas, daisies and tulips. It looks like a gorgeous spring day in your neck of the woods! As always it’s a pleasure to join you at the table and hop with you. ♥

  2. Bonnie, what a wonderful table, bursting with spring in your garden! How fun to use your mother-in-law's beach house sheet. It adds such a preppy touch to the florals! Those bunny plates are adorable. I have a set of 8 from last year. I wish I had known you needed more, I could have sent you 4 more gladly! That backdrop of your garden awakening (I spy camellias in bloom!) and that blue sky just absolutely invigorate my soul like no other season. Those napkins look like they were made from your floral centerpiece, a perfect pairing and complement to the plates. Just like Monet said "I must have flowers", we must have tablescapes! It was through these tables we became friends, and so we shall continue. Happy Spring and Easter to you and yours, Bonnie!

  3. Bonnie, I was just thinking about the old hymn “He Lives” and how do we know He lives, He lives within my heart! I love your table in the garden, it is gorgeous. The striped sheet is the perfect solution for a tablecloth. I haven’t visited HL very often so the bunny plates are new to me, they are adorable. Your plate stack is perfect with the Bordallo chargers and pretty transferware. The hydrangeas, tulips, and daisies definitely speak of Easter in the white basket. It makes me think of my childhood, I always had a white Easter basket. I love, love your tablescape! It is always fun to hop with you!

  4. Bonnie, Your table is lovely set out in the sunshine! Your hunt for the bunny plates reminds me of a hunt I had for peppermint plates from Hobby Lobby at Christmas in 2019! I had spent October and November at my daughter's in Maryland and driven to two different Hobby Lobby stores only to find two of the plates. I wanted eight. When I headed back to Florida in early December, I spotted a Hobby Lobby near the highway in Georgia. I stopped and I hit the jackpot! They had all of the peppermint plates I wanted! So..back to your beautiful table. White wicker baskets always say Easter to me, especially when filled with pretty pastel blooms. I have a pair of bunny salt and pepper shakers, but they are not nearly as adorable as yours. I am sure your children loved them as your grandchildren do now! I am so happy you got to have then visit. Our whole extended family has been vaccinated and we are looking forward to all gathering for Easter!

  5. So sweet and beautiful Bonnie! I love your arrangement of tulips and pink hydrangeas, so pretty on the table in your garden setting. The bunny plates are adorable, I bet you can find some other bunny plates to mix with them. They look so pretty paired with the green and pink plates in your stacks. Happy Spring and Happy Easter Bonnie!

  6. Bonnie, you know how I feel about our wonderful Lord and Savior...He lives within my heart also! And now that glorious hymn will be singing in my heart and mind all day. Praise God. I love your outdoor table setting. I have used sheets as tablecloths for years and none is the wiser. LOL Your choices are beautiful and I think we all miss Pier 1... as many have mentioned them in our posts. I have not been out and about, so have not seen your adorable bunny plates, but they are so sweet. Seeing your bunny salt and pepper shakers remind me that I forgot to put mine out on my tablescape! oh well, I will set them out for our Easter dinner, and chalk it up to chemo brain. Your table setting is simply beautiful and I think I spy daffodils sprouting up by your tree...correct me if I am wrong...I miss the Spring flowering season, but not enough to give up our warm Florida weather. Blessings dear friend

  13. Bonnie, your table is adorable, and I'm envious you can set a pretty seeing among your garden. Ours is basically brown! 😂😂😂 I did refresh my containers on the terrace and in the beds, so there is a bit of color. No large shrubs and sad trees! I will need to replant much of it, which will take time and money!
I'll check our HL here and see if my some slim chance I can find those plates for you. Glad your grands are there for a visit. Happy Spring!

  14. So pretty Bonnie and I agree with Shannon about your garden tables, they are always lovely. I'm hoping that I'll be able to find those glasses at our Wal-Mart they are gorgeous. I'm pretty bummed about Pier 1 closing also, they were great for bargains and inspiration. It's nice to be able to gather again even if it is in small groups. Happy Easter and Happy Spring!
