On this table, I used dishwasher safe glasses and cutlery. The plate stack was also simpler. The plaid cloth changes the look, doesn't it? It is more casual.
I remember fondly my house full of my family last year and having us all together for the first time in about five years was a great blessing.

Bonnie, I love your sweet trees under your cloches for a centerpiece...festive, simple and easy too! What a great idea to have a simpler table with the same theme. I love the shot looking into your living room with the twinkling lights of the tree. Your home looks beautiful, cozy and inviting! I’m dreaming of red velvet cake now for breakfast. :) As always it’s a pleasure to hop with you. Happy December ♥
ReplyDeleteI've already frozen the cake for later but it would be good for breakfast!!! I have a terrible sweet tooth!

Bonnie, you know how much I am loving your “under the cloche” and the trees are so perfect. Flowers may be scarce around my house, so being creative in your centerpiece shows how we can have beauty in a different way. I am loving your plate stack with your cabbage chargers, I am trying not to be envious. Sharing a more casual table is perfect for the younger ones. How wonderful it would be if we could share a slice of red velvet cake and a cup of coffee. Red velvet is my family’s favorite. Wishing you a most beautiful Christmas season filled with joy, peace, and love!
ReplyDeletePam, I am glad you liked my trees under the cloche. It was good not to stress over the availability of flowers in my area.
DeleteYes, we could talk for hours, as we have done before, enjoying cake and coffee!I had forgotten red velvet was your family favorite.
Merry Christmas, Bonnie! Your red, green and white traditional Christmas table offers comfort and joy to my Covid heavy heart. You've captured the happiness and hope of the season with vibrant visuals. Like you, I am a flower girl yet I didn't miss the flowers one bit with your tree cloches amid the familiar Christmas china and festive table runner. My spirit has been lifted and I am grateful.
ReplyDeleteAnita, Yes we are all weary of Covid. It is good to try to stay up and continue to decorate even if no one will see it.
DeleteYou have lifted my spirit with your visit and comment so thank you very much.
Merry Christmas to you!!!
Hi Bonnie! The trees under the cloches is such a darling idea. The glasses are such a sweet reminder of your late mother in law. How pretty is your dish stack! Your red velvet cake adds the perfect pop of color and looks absolutely delicious! Thank you for the beauty! 🎄❤️🎄
ReplyDeleteKitty, thank you for your sweet comment. You are always encouraging. Did the Wisteria close in Dallas that we visited? I read that somewhere. It was such a beautiful store.
DeleteMerry Christmas to all your family. You are so blessed to have them nearby.
Good morning, Bonnie. Your tables are so pretty and inspiring. And your trees under the cloches are lovely and very creative. Your green goblets are Lenox, I have them in cobalt blue. I would be so happy to be seated at your table enjoying a piece of your Red Velvet cake.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your family a beautiful month of December filled with blessings.
Sandra, Thank you for your commplments. I meant to look up the glasses but something kept getting in my way. I thought they were Lenox so thank you for confirming.
ReplyDeleteI would enjoy a chat and red velvet cake together also.
Have a joyful week and enjoy decorating.
Bonnie, your tables are both spectacular, and very inviting for me! Love that you took advantage of Nancy's sale and scored those cabbage chargers - how satisfying to be able to find and use like this. The golden tree glasses look 3D although I think it's the way they're painted - very pretty. And I am crushing 100% on the emerald green glassware. That is SO pretty. It reminds me of the old Boopie glassware, which my former MIL had a complete set of. Having the trees as your centerpiece works wonderfully, and the cloches elevate their status so well. I also love the casual table set last year! I agree, the plaid cloth is fun. You're so right in that having these tables to share and our traditions that go with our holidays is definitely one way to beat the woes the pandemic has caused for the holidays, and certainly helps keep our traditions very much alive. Please pass me a piece of that beautiful cake, and we will carry on.......♥
ReplyDeleteBonnie, your table setting is lovely. I love the jeweled trees under the cloches used as your centerpiece, works beautifully with the Christmas Tree pattern. I like your centerpiece is different from fresh flowers, sometimes a change is nice. I also love using Christmas crackers when I have room. They add such a nice whimsical touch. Your Red Velvet Cake looks divine. Last years tables were lovely. You have so many lovely things Bonnie. Its nice how we use our gifts from our loved ones, always in our hearts...........
ReplyDeleteI agree how special it is to use our loved ones things. It was nice to have a change from fresh flowers. It's my first time to purchase Christmas crackers. I've just not seen them available where I was before.
DeleteThanks Emily for your sweet comment. I bought the Christmas tree glasses g in a shop in Mountain Brook. It's gone now but it was a pretty shop.Wish I could remember the name.
Rita, thank you my friend. The Christmas glasses are handpainted but the ornaments are raised beads glued on. I don't know the company that made them but I bought then in 1972 or 1973. We were newly married and didn't have much money and I really splurged on these but I knew my mother-in-law would like them.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your lovely comment.
Bonnie, I keep scrolling up and down to take in all the beauty shared here. I love the look of each table! The plaid casual look is perfect for everyday, and the formal dining room table is exquisite. I absolutely adore the idea of the cloches down the center of your table. I'm going to copy that idea if I can find a suitable taller cloche for my center one. You have me thinking about my next table and I'm still typing. Ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI recently picked up a set of Nutcracker crackers wit that theme in mind. Thought it would be fun for my little nieces. Too many wonderful details to comment on here, but suffice it to say I'm pinning multiple images!!!
I really, really, REALLY love the trees under the cloches as a centerpiece. That's darling, festive, fun and (assuming you have the cloches!) so easy and charming. We have the same Spode, which I love. It's my favorite for Christmas meals. I probably won't be doing flowers this year either, given that I don't go out! Maybe my poinsettia will live long enough. The plaid is great. I love it all, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, thank you for the tour of both formal and casual tables --- all very festive and special. I loved the cloches as a centerpiece and all the other vintage tableware (especially the Christmas tree glasses). Hoping you'll be able to travel to your daughter's. We are expecting our two sons and a 4 month old puppy, but also worry it might not happen. They are planning on driving together with all their work computers, etc. in case they need to stay a few weeks. Wishing you the very best!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the well wishes about our Christmas plans. Wishing you the best also. It seems we all have to be flexible but it sure is hard.
DeleteThanks for your kind comments about my table.
Oh my mercy Bonnie! You best be glad I don't live close to you. Those cute little trees under your cloches might go missing! LOL! I love your beautiful table. I adore both tables. You always have such beautiful tablescapes. Hugs and blessings to you sweet lady.
ReplyDeleteCindy
Thank you sweet Cindy. You do great tablescapes yourself. I bought those trees at Hobby Lobby.
DeleteBonnie, with such a pretty centerpiece, you don't need flowers. I only have a few cloches, but viewing your pretty table with the bottle brush trees makes me want to add a few more cloches to my stash. The glasses are special, and must put a smile on your face when you use them to set the table.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I have a terrible sweet tooth as well. I freeze my desserts so as not to gobble them down to fast!
The Christmas trees under the cloches is a beautiful focal point and very classy. I've never purchased or had the crackers but been curious about them. Your Red Velvet Cake looks delicious and I hope you saved a slice for me. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, such a darling look with those jeweled tree under cloche. Love the plaid. The Christmas tree glasses are lovely. Special memories. Red velvet cake is delicious and it looks fabulous on your table. Love using Christmas crackers. Lots of fun and smiles.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, your table is so classically beautiful! I love how you used traditional red and green and the way you displayed your trees makes them really stand out. Those glasses are so unique and special. How nice to have memories attached to them. Great hopping with you again. Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season!
ReplyDeleteShelley
Bonnie, I love your bottle brush trees under your cloches as your centerpiece. A red velvet cake is always a wonderful addition to any table!!!!❤️I have never had Christmas crackers and think that this would be a fun thing to do in the future with my grandsons. We never ate at a formal dinner table, so I tend to be much more casual, so I am more attracted to your plaid table- I feels as though we could sit and talk at that table for hours!! I hope you get to spend it with your daughter. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas season 🎄❤️
ReplyDeleteAnn, there is nothing I would like better than to sit and talk and eat cake. That would be so much fun.
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment.
Wishing you a wonderful Christmas.
hi Bonnie, I have the same traditional Spode Christmas china that I got as a wedding gift and have never tired of using it! I love the cloche trio of bottle brush trees on the runner, so pretty and a nice change from flowers. The plaid cloth and napkins are delightful paired with the red and green trees~ The crackers are such a fun touch too...I do hope your holiday plans work out, keep safe,
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thank you Jenna. We sure missed you on this hop.
DeleteI appreciate your comments. Your grands would love the Christmas crackers. I got them at TJMaxx.
Wishing you a lovely Christmas and a great birthday. I think I remember that!
Good Afternoon Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteStunning and classic Christmas styling combined with such endearing heartfelt Christmas thoughts.
I am wishing you the loveliest of Christmas seasons.
Jemma
You are so sweet, Jemma. You are so encouraging and inspiring to me.
DeleteI wish you the loveliest of Christmas seasons too!!!!
Bonnie, Both of your tablescapes are gorgeous. I absolutely love the use of bottle brush trees. It is such a vintage look. It was so nice that you used the cute Christmas tree glasses from your mother-in-law. What a beautiful remembrance of her. I love how you used the same theme with the cloches for both tables and the plaid tablecloth to change things up. The tree plates are perfect and vintage pieces. Yum....I could go for a slice of the red velvet cake. It looks so delicious. I never knew much about the crackers on the table. What a nice touch and some shared info. I hope you and your entire family have a wonderful holiday.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marsha! You write the nicest comments. I enjoyed googling info about the history and contents of Christmas crackers. I've seen them at a friends home but this was the first time I've seen them to purchase. I forward to sharing with family if not this year I will save then for next year.
DeleteBonnie, both tablescapes are beautiful. The photograph that gives us a look into your living room with the tree is gorgeous. I love how you created a centerpiece with the cloches and bottle brush trees. I miss fresh flowers, too, but out of an abundance of caution I haven't been anywhere to get any. We are only purchasing items curbside. I am praying that we get to have Christmas dinner with my parents, but only time will tell. I love all of your pretty vintage pieces, and that cake looks most scrumptious! Take care, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shannon! Your comments mean so much. The cloche and bottle trees did rescue me. Not only the danger challenge about shopping but I live in a small town and availability is an issue.
DeleteThanks for your visit and thoughts.
Oh I love your tables Bonnie! Isn't it fun how you can change up a few things and get such different looks? I really like your formal table and that beautiful Christmas china too. So many lovely little touches to make your tables so warm! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barbara. I am so glad you joined the hop. I appreciate your visit and comment. I know it is time consuming so thanks so much.
DeleteBonnie I love both tables and I especially love fresh flowers.... but I don't miss them on your table as the cloches are super pretty! And red velvet cake????? oh my, definitely one of my favorites and you haven't lost your baking ability because your cake is gorgeous....and i want a piece right now. You are so very creative and I always enjoy hopping with you. blessings sweet friend and best wishes to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kari for your sweet comments. I thought about adding small individual vases at each plate with flowers but was challenged with rain all week which made it hard to photograph. And I ran out of time to shop for flowers.
ReplyDeleteThanks sweet friend. You are always encouraging.
ReplyDeleteIsn't amazing how just changing out the tablecloth can totally change the look and feel of a tablescape? I absolutely adore those sweet little decorated bottle brush trees in the cloches! So...now I want cake!! What a great idea (and a lot of work) to add something organic to your pretty table! Wishing you and your family a safe and happy Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, what a sweet table! I love your trees under cloches, such an inspired and festive centerpiece. Your home looks beautiful, warm and so welcoming! Happy December, friend. ♥Lidy
