It was a beautiful fall day for a tea party with our granddaughter visiting us during her fall break!
The weather was so pleasant. There was a gentle breeze and the birds entertained us with delightful birdsong.
Pumpkin muffins with sunflower seeds, tiny assorted Belgian chocolate pumpkins, and chocolate mousse pumpkins were yummy.
Johnson Brothers ironstone tea set and cups and plates were wedding gifts, circa 1971. I still love them. Some are crazed and have a few chips but they are very special to me.
Fall mums, Indian corn and heirloom pumpkins are staple autumn decorations at my home.
I had fun putting the table together for us. These special times with just the two of us are very enjoyable and this time we had all the time in the world to sit and enjoy the beautiful day with no other demands. You may remember another tea party that the weather chased us inside, here.
Our food came from Trader Joe's and not only was it cute but it tasted great. Wish I lived closer to Trader Joe's because they have so many nice things.
I finally found this picture that I have looked and looked for! This pic was made on October 7, 2014! Oh, they grow up so fast! We will have all our family together for Thanksgiving so I'd better have a tea party plan in place. Maybe we can get the 15 year old to join us, too!
Wish everyday could be as pleasant. Happy Fall!
Have a wonderful week.

ReplyDeleteOh, Bonnie, I can imagine what a wonderful day that must've been for you & your granddaughter (and that photo from 2014 - oh my! so adorable, love the gingers!). Your table, the outdoor setting & lighting, and the food all look season perfect. I wish we had a TJ's anywhere close to us, but nope, we don't. Your Johnson Bros is classic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day Bonnie! I am sure that you made your sweet Sophie feel so special. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThis absolutely melted my heart Bonnie! You and I are on the same page. Wait till you see what I blogged. I love your tea party and your grands are beautiful. What fun! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Bonnie, you have created a relaxing and beautiful table for your tea party. Love your Johnson Bros. tea set. You are making memories with Sophie that will be forever remembered. Every moment like this is to cherish. Special blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, i agree with Cindy, this melted my heart! Sophie is beautiful and she looks so much like you. Don't we wish that these special moments would never end. What a sweet table set for grandmother and granddaughter! Trader Joe's has some of the best food and fortunately we get to Birmingham often enough to stop in! I love the 2014 photo...precious, precious, precious!!! This looks like it was a perfect day for making memories!
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteShe hasn't gotten so big. I know this day was special to both of you and the setting was just perfect. I am happy that you are having everybody for Thanksgiving. I know it will be a grand time. Reminds me that I better start planning. It will be here before we know it...
Love,
Mona
How very special this is, Bonnie! I love how your grandgirl enjoys having tea with you - and listening to birdsong to boot. Your snacks look delicious, and the setting is wonderful. It's nice to see you're still using your china from early on. The memories you are making can never be erased. Happy fall to you and yours! :-)
ReplyDeleteBonnie this is just wonderful. I love the tea from 2014! So fun to see how they change. What a gorgeous setting! So glad they were able to enjoy perfect weather. Ours is up and down.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have a tea party with your granddaughter and I love that photo from 2014! It's not feeling so much like fall here this week and I'm beyond ready for sweater weather. Your treats look delicious! I don't have a TJ's near me anymore *sniff*...the closest one is an hour away and I miss it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend time with your granddaughter. I'm so glad you found the older photo, too. Every detail is perfect (and she's just lovely!). Your ironstone Johnson Brothers -- fabulous! And those sweet treats look like perfection. How special -- lucky you, lucky her!
