Our granddaughter, Sophie visited recently and enjoys tea parties.
Here she is four years ago for another tea party we had together.
Please view the post I did of her tea party in 2013, here. There's something special at the end.
She still remembers the Easter tea party we had so nothing would do but find a tablecloth and decorate.
But it was threatening rain so I quickly tested the lighting and snapped a few pretend pictures because I hadn't steeped the tea yet.
It's a good thing I did because it started to rain and we had to hurry and take everything in. Then by the time we had gotten things inside, the sun came out so we dragged it out again!
But the same thing happened and by this time we were a little frustrated and ready to dig into the goodies. So we had our party inside at the kitchen table and finally poured real tea in our cups.
It was fun to taste all the flavors of macaroons, ricotta cookies and lemon bars.We didn't have anything savory but maybe next time we will.
Girlfriend tea party here and here. Please read the end of the last link if you don't have time to read it all. Relationships are important.
Have a wonderful week.

Oh my goodness! What sweet pictures of your beautiful grandgirl. Oh I do love me a tea party too! I have some tea party pictures as well with the grands and several different times with tea parties and lots of little girls as we had birthday tea parties. Yes, relationships are very important. Life is precious. Loved you sharing sweet Bonnie. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteAw! SO sweet, and such SWEET memories you're making with your adorable granddaughter. Yes, I had many tea parties with the girls growing up, and we still like to stop all activity for a nice cup of tea and a few treats. Sorry that your outdoor party was rained out. We've had so many afternoon storms here lately, but after last year's drought I won't complain.

This is so sweet! Sophie is growing up! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Bonnie - isn't she turning into such a lovely young lady!? Oh my, they grow so darned fast, don't they? I hope she keeps her American Girl doll forever- my 30 something daughter still has her Samantha!
ReplyDeleteI agree- tea parties, fancy or not, big or small, savories or no - important to have. Our time on this earth is short. Too short not to have a tea party now and then!
Going now to check out those others teas again. Hugs.
Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteI read this post and the one from 2013. You know how much this touched my heart and that your little grandgirl has the love of the Lord in her heart. Such sweetness here today with you and yours.

I'm up for tea anytime Bonnie! So fun that you have a granddaughter to play and sip tea with. Some of my fondest memories of my grandmother are of her serving my sister and I breakfast on our tea set when we went to visit.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely precious! I guess I need to have a tea party for my Gran girls one day. I do love a tea party!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you know this melts my heart! I don't want to wish time away, but I look forward to my first tea party with Ella Mae! Sophie is a doll and she looks so sweet. Thank you for sharing this special time with us! I am going to look at the others you mentioned!!
ReplyDeleteI have done many a tea party with first my children and later with grandchildren. I can honestly say that my grandsons have enjoyed them just as much as my granddaughter. We have a tradition where they each pick out out a cup from the collection and I always make a special dessert for the day. My love for a tea party started back when I was a child when my brother, sister and I would go and spend a few days with my little Hawaiian grandmother. I say little because at 9 or 10 we were already taller than Grandma Mary Mooney Mears who stood 4'9", and that was stretching it. My tea cup collection started when she said to us one day that we could pick out a cup and saucer from her collection to keep. She lived in a tiny log cabin with kerosene lights and an outdoor privy. She might have lived in rustic surroundings, but she was uptown in her style. Her home was filled with antiques and treasures. What wonderful memories my siblings and I have of her.
ReplyDeleteShe's pretty darned adorable! How fun it is to do a girly tea party with a cute little girl! I love it and just love the fact that you have this wonderful opportunity to experience life with your little loved one!
ReplyDeleteI love this, Bonnie. Tea drinker or not (I'm not, but you could easily persuade me!) - these are all wonderful posts with great meaning in each. Relationships ARE important. Thank you for sharing how meaningful it is to you. Your granddaughter is growing into a fine young lady!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to share a proper tea party with such a lovely granddaughter, Bonnie.

Bonnie, what a darling girl! I love tea and tea parties (you will love my current post!) and I'm always happy to find other tea fans, especially ones like you who are passing the tradition down in the family. You're making beautiful memories for your grands.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteOh Bonnie, what a lovely granddaughter and a wonderful way to spend time with her. This is so sweeet, the flowers in the garden, tea set and the delicious treats. Making precious memories........
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing to have a granddaughter for tea parties! Wish the weather had cooperated, but you two worked real tea into your party. So sweet to spend time together. Thanks for sharing...hopping over to see the other tea party post. It's cute that Sophie had her American Girl doll. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAwww Bonnie, there's nothing better than having a tea party with a sweet granddaughter!! Your Sophie is just darling and having sweets with tea is a perfect idea, as is making treasured memories.
