New items around the house

Do you have any new items around your house that you recommend? I have two items I recommend. The first is Pioneer Woman's new cookbook. I received it as a gift for Christmas. It has great ideas for all the holidays. This cookbook has easy to implement recipes and ideas to make any holiday festive.

Here's a preview of the Valentine section.  Step by step how to make truffles.

You can see the index for the Valentine section in this pic.
I am going to enjoy this cookbook. Another new item at my house are our new gas logs.
Natural gas  was installed in our neighborhood the last few months. It has been so nice on cold mornings and evenings to sit by a cozy fire. I didn't know what I was missing. The logs have a remote and it is so easy to turn off and on. Wow, no mess and instant heat.

What new items do you have around your house that you recommend?

  1. We are thinking about gas logs. No mess of ashes to clean up for one thing. A fire at the touch of a button seems like a fine thing to me!! You can cozy up and read your new cookbook.

    Best,
    Bonnie

  2. I wish I had natural gas! I do have a wood stove though and it's burning right now. The PW cookbooks are fun and this new one looks like another winner-enjoy:@)

  3. Hi Bonnie-

    Happy New Year!
I have that cookbook and I really like it. A friend of mine is cooking something new every Sunday from that cookbook this year.
    What a fun idea, right?

  5. Hi Bonnie,

Thank you for sharing these goodies with us. :) I think the Pioneer Woman cookbook looks especially nice. I'm sure the recipes are good, and it's pretty too. I love a pretty cookbook, don't you?

It's so nice that you have gas logs now; they really do look lovely and cozy. My parents have gas logs in their home, but we always had wood fires when I was growing up. My in-laws have one wood-burning fireplace and one gas log fireplace -- best of both worlds. :) Ours is still a wood-burning fireplace.

I enjoyed your post and hope you're having a good week.

    Special hugs to you,

    Denise

  6. I will look for that new Pioneer Woman Cookbook at the library, Bonnie! It looks good!

I also love our home's gas fireplaces --they are very convenient to use.

  7. I love. love. love. having a gas fireplace. Instant comfort. No mess!! Yours are beautiful, Bonnie. Amanda gave my Mom that book for Christmas and Mom has told me I need it, too. Now, I'm convinced. ;)

Bonnie, thank you so much for your most kind words. You are an angel. blessings ~ tanna

  8. I've heard so many good things about that cookbook. I know you will enjoy using that! Have you seen her show on tv? I think it's on the Food Network. I like it. Love your new gas logs! They're so pretty. We have a gas starter in our fireplace, but we burn real wood. I love it, but it is messy and I don't know how to build a good fire on my own, so we only have a fire if my husband builds it. I bet you're enjoying your logs during this cold winter! If I had them, I would use it everyday.
