Nita's ~ Summer Garden ~

This is my friend, Nita's summer garden. If you missed Part 1 featuring her cherry blossoms  this spring you may view here. Nita and her husband laid all the brick flooring themselves in a bed of sand over gravel. They did hire a brick mason to build the great fireplace.

Our Garden Club toured Nita's garden last fall but where we live it is still summer weather.
Several people commented on the ivy trellis in the previous post. If you look back on the previous post here you will see the ivy has grown since this picture. To train the ivy to grow in a pattern, mortor nails fastened wire in place for the ivy to form this beautiful pattern.

Espaliered red pear tree.  Click here to learn how to espalier fruit trees.

Nita, We have enjoyed touring your spring and summer gardens.  Thank you for graciously sharing with us.
