There's a time each year
That we always hold dear,
Good old summer time;
With the birds and the treeses
And sweet-scented breezes,
Good old summer time.
When your day's work is over
Then you are in clover,
And life is one beautiful rhyme,
No trouble annoying
Each one is enjoying,
The good old summer time.
"In the Good Old Summer Time"is an American Tin Pan Alley song first published in 1902 with music by George Evans and lyrics by Ren Shields.

Bonnie, I'm so glad you were able to join the summertime tablescape blog hop. Yours & mine could be neighboring tables in similar garden settings. ;) Love the lyrics applied as accompaniment for such a soft and romantic setting in the garden. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely setting...all I need to add is the sound of birds chirping and bees buzzing and I could sit for hours. Beautiful!!! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHow pretty Bonnie . I love your table setting and outside is perfect . The temps are horrible for us and I'm afraid we would have a heat stroke dining outside . But I do love it . Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh this looks so serene and inviting! I wish we could enjoy dining out of doors here in Florida. It was such a treat to get to do that while I was up in Ohio! You can never go wrong with peonies, can you? Your simple table in pink and white is elegant and at least makes me imagine a cooler evening!
ReplyDeleteYour table is so fresh and pretty, Bonnie. I love it outside. I especially love the pretty pillows on the chairs. All in all, perfection! I'll be right over!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I love the song lyrics accompanying each beautiful photo. Your table is "simply stunning"! Is there a more perfect flower than a peony and what a lovely bouquet?! ReplyDeletewith the dappled sunlight peeking through. Where were you able to find peonies this time of year? I keep hoping they'll invent a hybrid that will have a longer bloom time.
Mary, my daughter-in-law bought them at Trader Joe's in Dallas for me. I brought them back to Alabama on our drive home from visiting them.
