Hello and welcome to my home as I join a group of bloggers for a Holiday Tablescape Blog hop sponsored by Chloe Crabtree @Celebrate and Decorate. At the bottom of this post are links to the other wonderful tablescapes for your inspiration.
Christmas evokes many memories of faith, family and friends, and for me setting a festive Christmas tablescape begins my holiday decorating.
I set a formal table today using my Lenox Holiday china with all formal elements. I love the drama of gold, elegant crystal, a touch of glitz and candlelight.
I wish I could remember when I began collecting the Holiday pattern. For a number of years, all my family gave me pieces of this china for Christmas and birthdays.
The lovely boughs of holly that entwine the border of the plates, remind me of the old Christmas carol, Deck the Halls.
Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Fa,la,la,la,la, la, la,la la. Tis the season to be jolly, Fa,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la.
Don we now our gay apparel, Fa,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la.
Troll the ancient Yuletide carol, Fa,la,la,la,la,la,la,la,la. (Just in case you can't remember the lyrics, LOL!)
The song captures my festive mood and tablescape.
I adore this vintage tablecloth that graced my dear mother-in-law's table for many years.
To me, traditional red and green with gold accents has timeless elegance.
For the centerpiece, I used a mirrored table runner embellished with a scalloped crystal bowl filled with various textures and sizes of red Christmas ornaments. On each side of the bowl are crystal candlesticks with red candles and sparkled gold Christmas trees.

Your Boughs of Holly table is beautiful and timeless Bonnie! I love the mirrored table runner reflecting the shiny red ornaments, your glittery gold trees and the sparkle of the crystal at the table. And what a beauty and treasure your mother-in-law's embroidered vintage tablecloth is. Winter Rose is my favorite variety of poinsettia and to use as a cut flower. :)
ReplyDeleteBonnie, i have always loved the classic Lenox pattern. Your mother-in-law's embroidered tablecloth is so beautiful and for sure a treasure. Your crystal and silver patterns with the mirrored table runner are so elegant. I could sit here for hours at this stunning table enjoying food and fellowship. Your gorgeous table would stand the test of time, not trendy just perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Bonnie! You have most definitely captured the classic and traditional feel of Christmas I so love. The Lenox pattern immediately is recognizable (I don't have the dishware, but do have guest towels with a portion of the same holly & berry Lenox pattern). Your crystal, your MIL's tablecloth (be still, my vintage-loving textile heart!)....and your addition of the side vignette of the Holy Family with silver lion's head and footed vessel for flowers all speak to me. BeautifuL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Bonnie, just beautiful! Your dishes from lenox are really setting the christmas theme and can do it for years. They're just gorgeous and make me think of gorgeous wreaths lining all the windows of a home dressed for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteBoughs of holly never looked lovlier Bonnie, your table is just elegant! I have always loved the holiday Lenox, and you're right, gold, green and red is so gorgeous! The vintage family cloth is such a treasure, it's all beautiful!

It's beautiful, Bonnie!! I love that gorgeous tablecloth, and your centerpiece is lovely! My mother-in-law, Diane, has the Lenox "Holiday" pattern with a bunch of serving pieces. It's to be divided between my sister-in-law and myself when Diane no longer wants to use it. It truly is a beautiful, classic pattern. Everything on your table looks so pretty and ready for a festive Christmas meal. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Bonnie!
Hugs,
Denise

ReplyDeleteYou've done a wonderful job combining the beautiful Lennox Christmas china with the special and lovely tablecloth and the terrific mirrored runner. I really like the classic look of your tablescape and the feeling it evokes - maybe of simpler times in my past when my mom would set the table for Christmas with her collected china. I have to mention how much I like those napkin rings as well - perfect choice for the table! Your small nativity ornament is lovely and speaks of the reason for the season.
